Matthew 5:1-3
"And seeing the multitudes, He went up into a mountain: and when He was set , His Disciples came to Him: And He opened His Mouth , and taught them, saying, "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven."
1 Timothy 6:17-19
"Charge them who are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the Living God, Who gives us richly all things we enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on Eternal Life."
The word "Blessed" in the Beatitudes means "Happy". The only thing that can make you happy is Jesus. Jesus = Happiness!!!!
We think that in the Book of Matthew is the only place that Beatitudes were written, but the Book of Revelation has Beatitudes as well.
Revelation 1:3
"Blessed (Happy) is he who reads, and they who hear the words of this Prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand."
In other words, we can be truly happy just by reading and studying the Book of Revelation.
Revelation 14:13
"And I heard a voice from Heaven saying to me, "Write, Blessed (Happy) are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yes, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works follow with them."
In other words, happy are those that will die for their Testimony in the Great Tribulation Period, rather than serve the Antichrist.
Revelation 16:15
"Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed (Happy) is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame."
In other words, happy are those who worship and serve the Lamb, rather than to be naked to the Judgment of God and suffering the consequences at the Second Coming, or even before that event.
Revelation 19:9
"And he said to me, "Write, Blessed (Happy) are they which are called to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb." And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God."
In other words, happy are those that will be called to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, based on what Jesus did at the Cross.
Revelation 20:6
"Blessed (Happy) and Holy is he who has part in the First Resurrection: on such the second death has no power, but they will be Priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with Him a thousand years."
In other words, happy are those who has part in the Resurrection of Life and be given glorified bodies.
Revelation 22:7
"Behold, I come quickly: blessed (happy) is he who keeps the sayings of the Prophecy of this Book."
In other words, happy are those who study the book of Revelation.
Revelation 22:14
"Blessed (happy) are those who washed their robes in the Blood of the Lamb, that they may have the right to the Tree of Life, and may enter in through the gates into the city."
You can have everything in this world, but if you don't have Jesus, you will never be happy. Jesus is the only One that can fill the emptiness in your heart.
After Adam and Eve were created, their hearts were full of God, but when they fell, it left a hole for all mankind. (Genesis 3) The only thing that can fill the spot is God.
When Jesus talked with the woman at the well, He told her, "But whosoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst; but the water that I will give him will be in him a well of water springing up into Everlasting Life." (John 4:14)
We can't fill the void within ourselves...only God can!
Jesus tells us to, "See you first the Kingdom of God, and His Righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33)
King Solomon went out into the world and "lived it up". He never became satisfied and realized, the only thing that matters is faith and living for Jesus Christ! (Ecclesiastes 1-12)
Living a life for Jesus is living a life with no regrets!
